Despite its name, Main Avenue is not the main street of Orangevale. It was actually named after a water line (as was another local street, Central). Main is roughly three miles long, a busy two-lane road with a high school and two elementary schools nearby; but these days Main is more of a back road than a major thoroughfare. I took a walk along the upper end of Main and found an amazing array of assisted living facilities, gated homes, thrift stores, horse pastures, churches, the local food bank, and European car garages.
