Land art
One of the fun things about watching the Tour de France every year is seeing all the ingenious and elaborate works of art decorating the various towns and villages the race passes through. Many of them are created each year by the local farmers using their tractors and bales of hay to celebrate the Tour and are best viewed from above, i.e., from a helicopter or drone. This year I heard one of the commentators refer to these designs as “land art.” And that label returned to my mind as I hiked around Mississippi Bar earlier this week and discovered plenty of odd little creations that qualify as land art.
