The Adventure Continues… American River Parkway
It’s been many years since I spent time on the Sacramento end of the American River Parkway, but several times back in the 1970s I did ride what was at the time the entire length of the bike trail, 23 miles from Discovery Park to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery. These days the parkway and bike trail extend for 32 miles, from the confluence to Beals Point at Folsom Lake, with even more paved access trails and dirt trails running throughout. Having such a close connection to the parkway is probably the main reason the Big Guy and I have chosen to remain in the area all our lives!
Huell sets off from where the Sacramento and American River meet on a bike ride along the beautiful 23-mile American River Parkway.
