Memory Monday, Week 128

July 1979 — This week, I have the last bunch of slides from Crater Lake, which will finish up my look back at our 1979 road trip to Canada. As I think back on it now, it feels like our visit to this incredible lake was only the briefest flash of time; I didn’t write much about the stop in my travel journal — except to record that my mom bought a sweatshirt for herself and a stuffed bear for my nephew Kevin at the gift shop. I also wrote down (as I usually did) what we ate when we stopped for lunch near Klamath Lake (peanut butter and jelly, with orange juice). For more details of our final overnight stop of the trip (Mount Shasta), you can check out Memory Monday, Week 41, which includes the photos I took with my camera.

It wasn’t only the squirrels looking for handouts!

Next week, I’ll be back with more memories — I still have a big bunch of great slides to go through, so it will be awhile before I run out. I just have to decide which ones to use first!
