The Adventure Continues… Alaska: Dyea
I recently reread Jack London’s novel The Call of the Wild for the first time in years, so the names of places like Skagway, Dyea, and Dawson are wonderfully fresh in my mind as I watch Huell’s Alaska adventure and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. The town of Dyea is now only a memory — not even a ghost town — but it was an essential link in the trail to the gold fields of the Yukon Territory in 1898.
Huell visits Dyea at the head of the Chilkoot Trail, the most famous route taken by prospectors to the Klondike Gold Rush. He also sees some beautiful Bald Eagles.
