I’m not sure if we’ll ever return to this cabin up in the hills above Manchester, but it was definitely a stay I won’t forget for a long time! We faced a few minor frustrations here — adjusting to the lack of microwave, living off the electrical grid, dealing with cold, rainy weather — but all in all, this was a really great spot to spend a week in late March this year. And while we normally prefer to keep entirely to ourselves in these accommodations, meeting the owner (and his sweet pup) was very cool. Even though the rain was bucketing down, he very kindly hiked over from the main house to get our heat sorted out for us when we managed to trip the circuit breaker. For whatever reason, it’s always the places that provide more unexpected challenges that turn out to provide my favorite memories.
