The Adventure Continues… Anaheim

Back in my younger days I made a number of visits to Anaheim, to spend time with family and to visit Disneyland. But it wasn’t until watching this hour-long episode of California’s Gold that I began to realize how much more there is to this Southern California city than just theme parks! Originally aired in September 2008, Huell takes us through the story of Anaheim, from vineyards to orange groves and beyond!

When you mention Anaheim to most folks, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm come to mind, but this city has a rich history and some genuine surprises. Huell spends the day with the President of the Anaheim Historical Society and visits everything from a family owned bowling alley celebrating its 50th anniversary to a statue built in 1935, that is the oldest piece of public artwork in Orange County. We’ll also visit the home of the man who started Carl’s Jr. and a very historic cactus garden in Pearson Park.
