The trail at Caples Lake
A week or so ago I shared some photos from an outing to Caples Lake near Kirkwood and Carson Pass, and today I have a few more scenes from that trip. There were quite a few images that I overlooked until going back through my archives recently, and I’m always very happy to find pictures I’ve forgotten about, sitting there waiting to be edited and published. I really enjoy exploring the trail that winds along the lake shore although I’ve never ventured to its turnaround point. One reason is the altitude: at nearly 8,000 feet (2,438 meters), I find myself huffing and puffing if I try to keep up with the Big Guy’s big strides. It’s quite a difference from the 220 feet (70 meters) I’m used to at home! Still, the beautiful scenery and the fun of exploring definitely make it worth the effort.
