The Adventure Continues… Bunny Museum

With horrific fires still devastating large portions of Los Angeles area, the TV news has given a lot of attention to the celebrities who have lost their homes. Of course that’s heartbreaking, and I feel sympathy for them, but I’ve been thinking quite a bit about the many non-celebrities who are also enduring great loss. The Bunny Museum folks are a good example. When Huell visited the “museum,” it was originally just their home in Pasadena, filled with a deeply personal and well-loved collection marking all the years of their life together. The collection was relocated to Altadena and a new, larger building in 2017. I was scrolling through reels on Instagram a few days ago when I saw a man, Steve Lubanski, weeping over the loss of this unique landmark that was such a huge part of his life, and I was glad that Huell Howser had thought to turn the spotlight on the collection some 18 years ago, with an episode of Visiting that originally aired in January 2007. Sadly, a number of other area landmarks are now gone or forever changed, including Will Rogers State Park and its historic ranch house. It will take some time to count up the final cost once the fires are all extinguished.

Join Huell as he hops over to the Pasadena home of Candace Frazee and Steve Lubanski, who have turned their house into a living museum filled with almost everything bunny! Over 21,000 bunny collectibles: most of their furniture, light fixtures, kitchenware, toiletries, books, and games are bunny themed. And lounging around their house, they have seven real bunny pets that do not live in cages, and are litter box trained!
