Return to Little America
There’s really only one negative thing that I can say about both of our visits to the Little America Hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona. On each occasion, we stayed for only one night before traveling on; and while it was unavoidable, one night is not nearly enough time to explore the area. Both the Big Guy and I feel that we’re missing out on so much by staying so briefly. But even if we had absolutely no interest in checking out the larger area around Flagstaff, there is such a lot to explore just on the grounds surrounding the hotel, which sits just off Interstate 40.
I was surprised to realize it was only a year ago that we first stopped here and discovered the nature trail loop behind the hotel. I think I would be quite happy to spend a week (if not longer) here, just learning to know all the many marked and unmarked trails through the pine forest surrounding the Rio de Flag wetlands. I can only hope we’ll get the chance to return someday.
