A few images from my visit to San Francisco in August 2023.
I was strolling through the quiet neighborhoods of Roanoke, Texas, when I happened to notice some fallen leaves on the sidewalk. Except, these leaves didn’t rustle underfoot, because they were imprinted into the cement! At first I thought it was a decorative feature created on purpose, but I could only find these natural decorations under the trees on a short […]
Road trips can be absolutely exhausting, especially if you’re driving long distances for more than a day or two. But if you can keep your eyes open no matter where you are, you’re bound to find fun details and beautiful scenery.
The first time I took my camera with me on the trek out to Avery’s Pond and Mormon Ravine at Rattlesnake Bar (Folsom Lake) was April 1, 2016. I had been there a few times back in the 1980s, but alas, I apparently never took pictures then and I can’t remember much details about those visits! I also regret that […]
It’s been a while since I hiked along the old Folsom canal, but I’m looking forward to an organized walk along the canal tomorrow and hoping to learn more about its history. Today I’ve managed to dig up a few images from previous years, going back to 2016, shot at various locations along the course of the canal between the […]
I’m continuing my look back to September 2022 which I began yesterday, and today’s post includes images from Black Point Beach in Sea Ranch and Gerstle Cove near Salt Point (Sonoma County) and the Point Arena Lighthouse (Mendocino County). This was really one of the nicest coastal trips we’ve had, and I would be very happy to spend more time […]
Today I’m looking back at September 28, 2022, during another of our trips to the Sonoma and Mendocino coast. We were staying in a beautiful little house in Sea Ranch, up on Timber Ridge Road — no ocean view from there, but we were in the middle of a wonderful coastal redwood forest. And there were hiking trails that took […]
Oh, look — I discovered another bunch of images from last year that I had completely forgotten about! I shot all but one of these with my beloved Fujifilm camera while exploring around the west shoreline of Eagle Lake, in the small community of Spalding (Google seems to think it’s “Spaulding”). I would love to go back and see what […]
Looking back at some images from March seven years ago, documenting the change of the season from winter to spring in my area. I don’t believe I’ve shared these before — or at least not for a long time. I was finally starting to realize how much fun it was to photograph wildflowers and colorful blooms in people’s yards.
