I’m not sure Musical Monday will actually become a thing, but while I contemplate the possibility, here’s a great video I just discovered with music by the great Mark Knopfler and featuring a couple of my favorite cartoon characters. Enjoy!
One of my favorite WordPress travel and nature blogs is Enchanted Forests, written by Mukul Chand; and ever since I first read his post titled Auspicious Marigolds, I can’t help thinking of this song whenever I happen to see one of these beautiful little golden flowers, known as in Hindi as Genda.
Unlike the East Coast of the US, this week in California we’ve had sun, clouds, and a little bit of rain — actually very mild weather for January. I’m always a little happy to see grey weather since it’s betterĀ for photography — and these flowers are a good example of that. Maybe you’ll enjoy watching it too. https://dailymotion.com/video/x2cgz0g

As soon as I realized I was looking at a stick insect (Phasmatodea), I knelt down with my camera. Unfortunately, this was the best I could do, since he had no interest whatsoever in posing for […]
I’ve had a fondness for mariachi music ever since my trips to Mexico back in the 1960s and 1970s. This episode of California’s Gold is one that I managed to miss on television, so I’m really glad that the Chapman University archives are keeping Huell Howser’s wonderful adventures alive into the future. I hope you enjoy as much as I […]
