For this photo challenge, show us what path means to you. Consider the journey you’ve taken this year (or where you hope to go in 2017) and share a snapshot of this personal path, whether figurative or literal. A path can look like the one in the photo above, but it can also be a glimpse into your interests and passions or personal and professional goals.

Visiting Safari Park with family

2016 has been a difficult year in a number of ways; but for me, it’s also been a year of personal progress.  I’ve been able to climb out of my comfort zone, and I’ve also grabbed at more opportunities to be with family.  I started taking my blog more seriously, devoting time and energy to creating something I can feel proud of, and I’ve begun to explore my own personal “voice” when it comes to shooting pictures.

Going forward into 2017, I’d like to continue doing all these things, and I hope to focus more on my first great passion, writing.  For awhile now, I’ve been looking over the various writing prompts available online, but I’ve never followed through.  I normally don’t do New Year’s Resolutions… but this year perhaps I’ll make that my primary goal — get busy writing!

  1. Just for a moment I saw that arrangement of leaves to resemble almost a caricature of a woman kind of winking. Right eye, heavy makeup with longish eye lashes, left eye closed, then lips below with heavy lipstick especially on upper lip. And then there’s the leaves further down that you could more or less ignore. Nothing to do with path but that’s what I saw. May be nobody else in the world would see that but that’s exactly what I saw. I thought the leaves were arranged that way on purpose. But then I don’t think you would have done that. I know… Just saying. I showed this to a couple people and they totally saw the same thing.

    • I totally see it now! Of course when I took the picture, I didn’t even notice those leaves…

I also want to thank you for your comments, Mitchell. They’re always insightful and thought provoking — this comment is no exception. 😁
