Up the hill
We try to drive up to the mountains at least once a year in the summertime; it’s a great way to get out of the house and away from the valley heat, if only for a few hours. I don’t believe we made one of these day trips last year, but a couple of days ago we headed “up the hill” on Highway 50 in our 1971 Chevy El Camino to explore the area around Cody Lake. I had never heard of this small mountain lake before, but apparently it’s the site of a Scout camp. I really doubt you would ever just accidentally stumble across this place! Even though it’s not too far off the highway, the winding, deteriorated road in and out of the site made for some very slow going.
