Giant Logs Trail
July and August were fairly busy months for me, with the road trip to Texas, a visit to Lake Almanor, then a week in San Francisco, and finally the quick overnight to Tomales while the Big Guy was on his yearly hunting trip. I’ve shot so many photos that I’m still nowhere near finished going through them all. But I realized I was holding off sharing the images from our second stop at the Prehistoric Forest National Park in Arizona because it was such a beautiful place, completely unlike anywhere else we’ve been. It’s definitely mind-blowing to think that once, where these colorful chunks of rock lie scattered across the landscape there was once a lush forest — not unlike the one in Sonoma County I was so happily wandering through less than a week ago!
