Black Point Beach

Today I’m looking back at September 28, 2022, during another of our trips to the Sonoma and Mendocino coast. We were staying in a beautiful little house in Sea Ranch, up on Timber Ridge Road — no ocean view from there, but we were in the middle of a wonderful coastal redwood forest. And there were hiking trails that took me down the side of the mountain and pretty much straight to Black Point Beach. I had one heck of a time climbing back up, wishing the whole way that the Big Guy would magically show up and give me a lift. That didn’t happen. But that’s okay because I got an incredible workout, winding my way back up to the ridge. On the beach, I had the whole place to myself aside from the sea birds and a crab — or at least its former shell. It was a gorgeous day, even with the fog rolling in and rain threatening. It had been such a long time since I had actually walked on a beach that I wished I could spend the rest of the day there on the sand. But instead I soaked everything in and shot a lot of photos. Here are just a few of my images.
