Sterling Pointe adventure
Photos from a trip out to Folsom Lake in March of this year; I had started on this post and then left it sitting forgotten in my draft file. Now that summer is coming to an end, I need to get back out to this beautiful area and compare the water levels. It was relatively high that day, covering up parts of the shoreline trail, and on the way back Gus lost his footing and accidentally went swimming! I don’t think he enjoyed it much.
I have long been fascinated by the stone mason aquaduct along the old North Fork Ditch, and it’s a great place to compare the rising and dropping lake level. In March 2026 it was impossible to cross the “bridge” without getting wet (which is what Gus attempted to do and failed), but two months earlier in January the crossing was dry as a bone, as can be seen in the last two photos.
