One last look

Since we’re now under lockdown and the pandemic is hitting California very hard right now, it may be quite awhile before I get back to the Sonoma coast. That’s one reason why these images mean so much to me; they’re the last group of photos I shot at Gerstle Cove last month.

Hide and seek

I’m not sure how long this young Blacktail buck was standing there watching us approach. He was hiding in plain sight just off the dirt trail — but neither of us spotted him until he decided we were close enough, thanks very much, and turned to trot behind the bushes and out of sight.
