I always find tunnels a little bit irresistible, like a newly discovered trail promising adventure, beckoning me to explore. Here are a few tunnels I was able to shoot during my short stay in San Francisco last month.

Bison paddock
Bison have roamed San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park since the 1890s, but this was the first time I’d ever had a chance to visit them. This particular bunch are all females, and they seemed to be waiting patiently for brunch to be delivered.

I can’t tell you what these bright orange flowers are, but they were impossible to ignore, standing out against the calmer tones of earth and sea, as I explored the site of the Sutro Baths in San Francisco.

Way to go
There are all kinds of ways of getting around in San Francisco, whether you’re sightseeing as a tourist or just trying to get to work and back. During my recent visit, it sometimes seemed to me that at least half the traffic was some form of public transportation or a taxi/ride-sharing service!
