Point Loma, San Diego — This picturesque and historic lighthouse high on Point Loma was in service for only 36 years, from 1855 to 1891. It was removed from service and replaced by a new lighthouse in a different location that wasn’t obscured by clouds and fog. I shared my own photos from this visit in October 2018.
Just a short way farther north from the Point Arena Pier is the turnoff, Lighthouse Road, that leads to the Point Arena Lighthouse.
