WPC: Atop
The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of March 15, 2017.
This week, head to the top to take your best shot.
It took me off the clearly marked path, tramping through damp green weeds at times nearly up to my knees, and several backtracks, but I found the spot I was searching for. I’d been there only once before, when I took a whole series of pictures with a less-than-wonderful camera. So I decided this (nearly) springtime photo challenge was my perfect excuse to go back for another look.

This is the hill you’re looking for!
It’s a pretty good view of the east side of Sacramento County, especially considering this high spot isn’t at the top of a mountain. But it overlooks Folsom Dam as well as Folsom Prison, Folsom-Auburn Road, thousands of trees, and some quite posh houses and neighborhoods. And this time of year, lots and lots of greenery. It was a really lovely morning for a seven-mile hike, and I had the spot atop this hill all to myself. It’s all good.

Brings back memories of when I visited my friend in Folsom. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for commenting! Folsom is a pretty cool place, and I’m lucky I live in walking distance. I’ve lived in this area all my life, but I never realized until moving to my current house how lovely it is living so near Lake Natoma, Sutter Street, and the Sierra foothills. We get some pretty awesome views!
