Sweetwater Trail

You may have noticed that over the past few weeks, I’ve spent time with the Big Guy exploring the area around Sweetwater Creek, on the South Fork of Folsom Lake. The State Park access points along Salmon Falls Road have been closed (and remain so as I write this), but it’s still possible to find parking along the road near various trail access points. In fact, the spot where we chose to park this morning was packed with cars; but once we hit the trail we saw only four people — three hikers and one mountain biker. Today we decided to take a break from fishing and explore the northern end of the Sweetwater Trail, starting near the Salmon Falls Bridge. We didn’t cover the entire 5-mile length, but we managed to find the shoreline where we had been fishing on our previous trip.
