Miwok village
I’ve been spending a lot of time going through my old photos lately, and I’m amazed at how many of them were shot away from home — in the Sacramento Delta, along the Sonoma Coast, or at Clear Lake among other places. These images date from February 2001, when I took a day trip with the Big Guy to the Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park near Jackson. I was especially impressed by the roundhouse; there is a very special atmosphere inside, even when it’s empty.
