Memory Monday, Week 137

Some of my very favorite old family slides are the ones dating from the 1950s and 1960s; even if I don’t have very much information about where they were shot, it’s great to see vintage cars and places that may have completely changed over the decades since the photos were taken. And of course it’s wonderful to see my parents […]

Memory Monday, Week 136

I’ve been on loads of fishing trips since I met the Big Guy 30-plus years ago, but I never imagined my mom and dad going salmon fishing until I came across these slides from 1950. My mom had relatives, the Ramsdells, living in Port Townsend, and they had what looks to me like a wonderful outing on Al Ramsdell’s boat.

Memory Monday, Week 132

Memory Monday, Week 131

During Christmas and summertime school breaks back in the early 1980s, I got pretty used to spending roughly eight hours on the road, driving to Southern California in my parents’ VW camper to visit my eldest sister’s family. Once there, we usually stayed for about a week and found time to visit various local attractions — Disneyland, the San Diego […]

Memory Monday, Week 130

This week, in honor of the holidays, I’m sharing some very nostalgic images dating from 1978 through the mid 1980s. I’m still working out exactly where and when some of them were shot, but they feature my niece and my two nephews surrounded by family and having fun with some new toys. Here’s hoping you are all finding ways to […]
