Mexico Monday, Week 2
Welcome to the first installment of Mexico Monday! After (belatedly) doing a little math last night, I realized that if I share one picture each week it would take me 2 years (!) to finish the first bunch of slides. And so I decided to post 2-3 images each week, at the very least. Also, one of my awesome readers, Galen911, has asked about the scanner […]
I’ve never done any theme days on my blog — unless you can count the photo challenges I take part in twice each week — but I’m thinking maybe now is a good time to try one out. I took on a project a couple of months ago that I’ve been excited about for awhile: namely, scanning and archiving the […]
Some days it feels like I’m constantly bombarded with tragic news and the horrific actions of other people. My heart goes out to everyone who has had such pain inflicted on them for reasons most of us find impossible to understand — not only in Nice, France, but so many other places around the world.
The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of June 24, 2016. This week, share an image of partners. A pair, a trio, a sextet; people, buildings, plants — whatever you choose to shoot, give us subjects that are in tune with one another. Since I haven’t had a whole lot of luck knitting lace shawls, I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t come to grief again while using some special yarn. […]
There may be a few extra traffic headaches for commuters this week since the old Rainbow Bridge — opened in 1917 — has been closed all week for resurfacing. I’m lucky enough not to have a commute, but I definitely noticed a difference during my Wednesday morning hike through Negro Bar (which parallels one of the bridge’s main feeders, Greenback Lane), across […]
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Fountains. This week’s topic is Fountains. They can be huge outdoor fountains to the tiniest of indoor zen fountains. Just have fun with this challenge. The topic sparked a memory for me, so I went digging in my box of old photo prints and found this lovely fountain on a post card my […]
Today I went for my customary morning walk and made a beeline for the Saturday morning farmer’s market in Folsom, just off Sutter Street. I’ve previously shared a picture from my very first visit back in January. That was on a cool, very rainy day; this June morning the sky was bright blue and the sun was shining… and the occasional cool breeze […]
