This week, I have the last of my slides from the 1950s — family photos featuring relatives from my mom’s side of the family. The photo above shows my Uncle Howard (my mom’s big brother) and his wife, Betty, along with their eldest daughter Joyce. Betty passed away in 2006.

Point Loma, San Diego — This picturesque and historic lighthouse high on Point Loma was in service for only 36 years, from 1855 to 1891. It was removed from service and replaced by a new lighthouse in a different location that wasn’t obscured by clouds and fog. I shared my own photos from this visit in October 2018.
