Mexico Monday, Week 12

We have been providing love to our kids long enough now that a number of our earlier children have returned to visit the home they remember with fondness, and to thank us for the love they received while here. Often they portray their time with us as the sole bright spot and changed focus of an otherwise troubled youth. Remember […]

Cruisin’ in the Delta

I’ve already posted about the day I spent in the Delta on a boat looking for bass — my response to The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge, Quest, is here, and there are plenty of other Quests to be found here. But it occurred to me that riding in a bass boat, capable of traveling upwards of 50 miles per hour over the water, is something that a lot of people probably haven’t done.  I thought it might be fun to try and share the experience, or at least some of it. I was very lucky to travel, multiple times, with my parents to Mexico at a young age, to see parts of the country that tourists rarely see, and to meet a good number of truly wonderful people. Even though most of my memories are now pretty vague, I still have some very strong impressions of those amazing experiences. My parents met the evangelist, […]

Before and After

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance — Alan Watts Today I’ve been digging around in my collection of old prints and negatives.  Since I’d never tried my new slide scanner on negatives yet, I was interested to see what sort of results I would get.  If nothing else, […]
