Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: April 23, 2017 We’ll soon be off to our annual family fishing trip at Clear Lake, so I thought a few odd ball pictures from our 2016 trip might be appropriate.

Yes, I knew it had rained the night before; but I gambled that the mud wouldn’t be too thick and chose to wear my sneakers instead of my hiking boots on my morning hike. And I managed to keep my feet reasonably dry — until I arrived at this dew-soaked portion of the trail. The shortest weeds reached up to […]
The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of April 19, 2017. Earth Day is near! This week, let’s celebrate this planet on which we live. No matter how thick the coating of asphalt we may put down, the truth is we still have very little control over the earth that we live on. At any moment, despite our […]

I chuckled when I snapped the photo last August; but when I […]
The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for the week of April 12, 2017. Much of photography is about discovery, and with discovery may come a surprise. I was hiking along a deserted dirt road at 6:30 in the morning and eyeing the blackberry bushes on my right, hoping to spot a sweet snack or two. I just happened to raise my glance […]
The last half of slide wheel number 6 took me back in time, from the mid 1970s straight to 1962, when I went camping with my family at Patrick’s Point State Park, on California’s far north coast. I was only about a year old on this trip; we did return there when I was a bit older, and I have […]
She could use some body work and a new paint job, but this 1951 Mercury was just too good to pass up when I spotted her at the auction in Roseville. I may never cruise down the street in this classic beauty, but she’s currently the pride of my car collection!
