Lost in Cabela’s

I’ve written before about visiting the Cabela’s store in Fort Worth. It’s become a bit of a Christimas tradition for the Big Guy to make a stop there to shop for fishing equipment. This year I was surprised to find myself in parts of the store completely new to me — a huge aquarium and a separate alcove that rivals the African Hall in the natural history museum. How did I not notice this before?

The aquarium formed a dark, curved tunnel and was filled with bass, bluegill, catfish, Texas cichlids, and gar. I tried my best to photograph the gar fish, but it was tough because they seemed to prefer the top half of the aquarium (above my head) and were moving almost constantly. This was the best I could manage.
