My entry for Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge this week (and great minds think alike!).
Chicago 1957 — I originally shared these images back in December 2017 and January 2018. Every time I look through these pictures, my desire to visit Chicago and see the museum (and all the other sights) for myself gets stronger! This dollhouse, belonging to silent film star Colleen Moore, was built in 1928 and has been on display at the museum […]
I originally shared these pictures in 2017 (see Memory Monday, Week 55). I’m not sure of the location of the first three images — my mom’s best guess was “somewhere in Pennsylvania.” The bottom two are from Niagara Falls and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Now, I know that last Monday I promised to show some slides from the 1960s this week. However, I now realize I have just a couple more sets from the 1950s to rescan before moving on. I’m definitely enjoying myself sorting through and attempting to organize this slide collection — but it can be a bit overwhelming at times, especially […]
1950s Odds and Ends — Just before I move on to a bunch of slides from the 1960s, I thought I would share a selection of slides that (for the most part) have left me with some unanswered questions. Maybe seeing them here will jog a memory or two in my family members — or not. Either way, I’ve enjoyed […]
This week, the majority of my images were shot in 1958. I previously shared some of these back in November 2017, but I think they look much better this time around.
Last week’s photos all dated from the late 1950s, and I was preparing to move on to slides from much later — but then I discovered I have quite a few images from 1953. So I’m going further back in time, grouping them together as much as possible to tell my family stories. I’d really love to know the make […]
I noticed this gorgeous old pedal car while walking through my neighborhood not long ago. I don’t know too much about them — other than what I’ve seen on TV shows like American Pickers — but I think this may be a Murray Pontiac, manufactured in the late 1940s or early 1950s. I hope this little car is going to […]
This week I’m concluding my slide carousel labeled 1951 — although in fact the last couple of slides have the year 1950 written on them, and the first three might actually be from 1956. Ah, well! I originally posted these images in late 2016; they include scenes from a snow trip up Highway 50 (east of Sacramento) as well as […]
